The View Touch uses a digital light sensor to view a displayed image (projection screen, LCD, Plasma, etc). The user calibrates the View Touch, which translates the displayed image into X-Y coordinates. Pointing the laser pointer at the screen causes the light sensor to detect and track it as the brightest spot, hence the importance of avoiding shiny backdrops and projector reflection. The View Touch software associates the bright spot's movement with mouse functions, so users can direct the laser pointer to move, drag, click, and double-click - while never needing to touch the mouse itself! The View Touch works with any mouse-driven program.
The View Touch comes with its own calibration and management tool as well as annotation software which can be utilised in any program used. Once opened, the View Touch Pen tool bar hovers over the active program. When the user wishes to annotate the displayed window, select the Pen (select a colour) and draw. When the user is finished then has the choice to trash the annotations or to save them in bitmap format.
